Description
The Essentials of Social Equity Training series is a unique and innovative program designed to offer a full picture of why inequities
exist and how they continue to be sustained. Learners will explore where they as individuals fit into systems of inequity, as well as
steps and skills that promote equity in practice
Facilitated virtual trainings are offered using Zoom. Trainers utilize a participant-centered workshop approach, which includes interactions and
adult learning activities to maximize retention and application of concepts. Each facilitated training includes an
Activity handout
that supports the interactions included in the session, a
Practice Tools handout that supports implementation and continued learning
after the training, and a
Slides and References handout of the material covered.
Curriculum
Prequel to Equity: Making the Invisible Visible (2 hours)
- Introduction to the Essentials of Social Equity Series
- Meeting the Mind & Society - relating self, culture, and society
- Mind Over What Matters - aligning values and action
- Bridging & Intellectual Humility - intentionally building and repairing connections
Foundations of Social Equity (2 hours)
- Past, Present, & Peoples - acknowledging where we are coming from
- Identity & Intersectionality- working from a place of wholeness
- Systems, Structures & Institutions- unveiling the framework of oppression
Social Equity in Practice (2 hours)
- Social Determinants of Health-practicing social equity for better health
- Healing from Harm- reviving self, culture, and society
